Naomi Campbell is building a "six star" resort and casino, in Malindi on the Indian Ocean. This could have a big effect on the local green turtles. The director of the Malindi Marine Association, Athman Seif says, "This would have a very negative effect on turtle nesting." When baby turtles hatch from their egg on land, the artifical light coming from the resort would confuse the baby turtles and instead of staying on land, they would go back into the ocean and die.
