Donda West's Doctor "Wanted to Be More of a Celebrity Kind of Physician"

The uncle and former business partner of Dr. Jan Adams — who operated on Kanye West's mom Donda before her death Saturday — has called the Beverly Hills surgeon "arrogant.”
In an interview with Extra (airing Wednesday), Dr. Pearlman D. Hicks said he quit their California medical practice nearly 10 years ago, adding, “I got the feeling he wanted to be more of a celebrity kind of physician.”

Though Hicks said there were never any complaints made about Adams during their tenure, “his personality is to a point that it can be considered arrogant at times,” he said.

Still, he said he was "very shocked" upon hearing allegations that Adams may be responsible for her death. (Adams said the breast reduction and tummy tuck he performed on her had nothing to do with her passing and could have been the result of other medical problems.)
Meanwhile, Adams' former patient, Gina Cloud — who won a malpractice suit against him about eight years ago — told Extra she is still shaken over a botched operation to remove loose skin after the birth of her daughter.

“I had four procedures with him," she said. "I kept foolishly letting him try to correct it ... it was really traumatic.

"He always had an answer," she continued. "He would always say something that was reassuring made me feel like, okay, I’m going to give him one more try and I really shouldn’t have.

“I absolutely wouldn’t recommend him,” Cloud said. “I think it’s really tragic that he’s actually still practicing medicine.”
